Terms & Conditions

1. Definitions
- "zeitnes" / "We" / "Us" — the watch repair workshop trading as zeitnes, located at 36 Jalan Bukit Bintang, 55100 Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
- "Client" / "You" — any individual or entity engaging zeitnes for services
- "Watch" / "Timepiece" — the item or items left with zeitnes for assessment, service, or restoration
- "Service" — any of the services offered by zeitnes, including the Everyday Wellness Check, Movement Rehabilitation, and Stewardship Restoration
- "Agreement" — these terms, together with any written quotation accepted by the client
2. Acceptance of Terms
By leaving a watch with zeitnes for assessment or service, or by accepting a written quotation from zeitnes, you confirm that you have read and agree to these terms. These terms apply to all clients aged 18 and over who have the legal capacity to enter into a service agreement.
3. Service Description
zeitnes provides professional watch care services in Malaysia. Services are available at our Kuala Lumpur workshop, or by prior arrangement via registered courier for clients based elsewhere in Malaysia. We reserve the right to decline service on watches we assess as unsuitable for our capabilities — for example, brand-restricted movements requiring manufacturer-exclusive tooling or parts.
Service availability is subject to workshop capacity. We will advise at the time of enquiry if there is a waiting period before assessment can begin.
4. Quotations and Authorisation
No service work begins without a written quotation and your explicit acceptance. The quotation will describe the scope of work and the total cost in Malaysian Ringgit (MYR). If additional needs are identified during service, we will pause, inform you, and obtain your approval before proceeding.
Assessment itself — the initial inspection carried out before any quotation — is provided at no charge unless the watch requires disassembly to assess. In such cases, an assessment fee will be disclosed before any disassembly takes place.
5. Client Responsibilities
- Provide accurate information about the watch's history, prior servicing, and any known issues
- Disclose any third-party insurance coverage that may apply to the watch
- Collect the watch within 60 days of notification that service is complete
- Treat staff with courtesy during all interactions
Watches not collected within 60 days of completion notice may incur a storage charge of MYR 50 per month. Watches not collected within 12 months may, at zeitnes's discretion, be surrendered to the relevant authorities under Malaysian law.
6. Intellectual Property
All content on the zeitnes website — including text, images, and design elements — is the property of zeitnes and may not be reproduced without written permission. Service documentation provided to clients (condition reports, service records) may be retained and shared for personal provenance purposes.
7. Payment Terms
Payment is due at the time of collection. We accept cash (MYR), bank transfer, and major credit cards.
For Stewardship Restoration services, a deposit of 30% of the quoted total is required at the commencement of work. The deposit is non-refundable if the client cancels after work has begun. The remaining balance is due at collection.
All pricing is inclusive of applicable taxes unless otherwise stated in the quotation.
8. Parts and Components
zeitnes will use original or period-correct parts wherever possible. Where a direct original part is unavailable, we will use the closest appropriate alternative and disclose this in the service record. Replaced parts are retained and returned to the client at collection unless the client requests otherwise in writing.
9. Workmanship Warranty
zeitnes warrants its workmanship for the following periods from the date of collection:
- Everyday Wellness Check: 90 days
- Movement Rehabilitation: 24 months
- Stewardship Restoration: 24 months
The warranty covers defects arising from our workmanship. It does not cover damage resulting from misuse, accident, unauthorised servicing by a third party, or normal wear and tear. Warranty claims must be submitted in writing to [email protected].
10. Liability
zeitnes exercises all reasonable professional care in the handling of watches. In the unlikely event that a watch is damaged while in our care, our liability is limited to the cost of repair or, where repair is not possible, the fair market value of the watch as assessed at the time of receipt.
We do not accept liability for pre-existing damage, latent defects, or issues not identified during initial assessment. Clients are encouraged to declare any known fragilities before leaving a watch in our care.
11. Disclaimers
Services are provided on the basis of the information available at the time of assessment. zeitnes makes no representations regarding the effect of service on the monetary value of a watch. Outcome descriptions in our service literature reflect typical results and should not be read as commitments to specific performance targets for any individual watch.
12. Termination
Either party may withdraw from a service agreement before work commences, without penalty. Once work has begun, the client may withdraw but will be liable for the cost of work completed to that point. zeitnes may decline to proceed if it becomes apparent that the required parts or expertise are unavailable; in such cases, any deposit paid for uncommenced work will be refunded in full.
13. Governing Law and Disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia. Any dispute arising from a service agreement should first be raised directly with zeitnes, where we will make every effort to resolve it fairly. If resolution is not possible, disputes may be referred to the Consumer Tribunal of Malaysia in accordance with the Consumer Protection Act 1999.
14. Changes to These Terms
zeitnes may update these terms from time to time. The current version will always be available on our website. Terms applicable to a service are those in effect at the time of quotation acceptance.
