Why zeitnes
What makes the difference.
Care built around your watch — not around throughput. Here is what that looks like in practice.
Back to HomeCore Advantages
Six reasons clients stay
Formal Watchmaking Training
Our watchmakers trained under recognised programmes in Geneva and Osaka — not on the job.
Honest, Pre-Work Estimates
Every assessment ends with a written quote. We begin work only when you have agreed, in full knowledge of the scope.
48-Hour Timing Tests
Serviced mechanical movements run for 48 hours across multiple positions before collection.
Authentic Parts Sourcing
We source original or period-correct components wherever possible and document every substitution.
24-Month Workmanship Warranty
Full service and restoration work is covered against defect in workmanship for two years from collection.
Progress Photo Updates
For restoration work, we share photographs at each significant stage so you remain close to the process.
In Depth
What each benefit means for your watch
Professional Expertise
Formal watchmaking education is not common in Malaysia. Most watch repair is learned on-the-job, which produces technicians capable of routine tasks but limited in their understanding of movement mechanics. Our team trained under structured international programmes and continues to study new calibres and complications as they encounter them. This depth of knowledge matters when a movement is unusual, aged, or requires judgement beyond a service manual.
Technology & Equipment
Our workshop uses professional-grade equipment — timing machines that measure rate accuracy across six positions, ultrasonic cleaning systems for components, pressure testers for water resistance, and regulated lubrication dispensers calibrated to movement specification. These tools are standard practice in Switzerland and Japan but uncommon in Malaysian watch repair. They are not optional extras — they are the baseline for doing the work correctly.
Client Communication
We write in plain language. Technical findings are explained in terms that do not require a watchmaking background to understand. When something unexpected is discovered mid-service, we stop and call — we do not simply proceed and include it in the invoice. Clients who wish to visit the workshop during a restoration are welcome. We see transparency not as a policy but as a basic form of respect.
Transparent Pricing
Our pricing reflects the time, expertise, and materials that each service genuinely requires. We do not inflate fees for high-value watches, and we do not discount in ways that compromise the quality of work. A wellness check has a clear scope. A movement rehabilitation has a documented process. A stewardship restoration is quoted individually based on what we find. In each case, the price is agreed before anything begins.
Measured Results
Every serviced mechanical movement leaves our workshop within manufacturer specification for accuracy — typically ±5 seconds per day for modern movements, and within the accepted tolerance for vintage calibres. Water resistance is verified by gauge, not assumption. These measurements are documented in the condition report that accompanies each watch at collection. Results you can read, not simply take on trust.
How We Compare
A different kind of watch repair
The differences between a considered workshop and a high-volume service centre are not always visible — until something goes wrong.

What Sets Us Apart
Distinctive features of our practice
The Conversation-First Approach
For restoration work, we begin not with tools but with a quiet conversation about the watch — its history, its meaning, and what you hope for its future. This shapes a tailored plan that no service menu could produce.
Original Parts, Returned
Every part removed from your watch during service is preserved and returned at collection. You receive the history of your watch's repair alongside the watch itself — a practice uncommon in our industry.
No Volume Targets
We do not operate on throughput. Our watchmakers are not measured by watches completed per day. They are measured by the quality of each watch that leaves our hands — a distinction that shapes everything about how we work.
Courier Service for Out-of-KL Clients
Clients across Malaysia can entrust their watches to us by registered, insured courier. We handle the process from receipt to return — carefully, with documentation at each stage.
